We don't
like to carry a lot of big, heavy stuff. Gee, I wonder why??? Anyway, we use
Mackie power amps (2), a Mackie 16 channel board, and Alesis delay
and 'verb. Electro Voice microphones work best for Woodwind Steel and
we use Electro Voice monitors as well. Our speaker set up for the "mains"
(the stuff out front that you hear) consists of Electro Voice "subs" and
Yamaha mid/high cabinets. Sounds pretty good, actually. We also have a "big"
setup for outdoor venues. Large Sun cabinets and a 100 foot snake enable us to
cover a substantial amount of territory.
When requirements dictate and the power supply is adequate, we carry some
combination of 8 PAR-56, 4 PAR-64, 8 PAR-48, and 8 PAR-36 "cans" with tri-pods, trusses, and dimmer
packs.
